Scott Peters Wins Reelection to Congress
Peters Vows to Restore Trust and Lower Costs:
“It’s Time to Deliver”
San Diego, CA – Rep. Scott Peters (CA-50) released the following statement after winning reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives:
“This was my 8th election to the United States House of Representatives; each of those victories was different, and none felt like last night. I am honored and grateful that the voters of California’s 50th Congressional District have shown confidence in me and have given me another opportunity to serve.
“And I thank the people across this great nation who resoundingly rejected Donald Trump – his reprehensible cruelty, his needless and costly war, his brazen corruption and the idiotic policies that have caused skyrocketing prices that hurt American families.
“Now that Democrats control Congress, we must meet the moment by restoring trust in our American government and lowering costs for our citizens.
“It’s time to deliver.”
Peters was first elected to Congress in 2012. California’s 50th Congressional district includes much of the city of San Diego, the cities of Poway, Coronado, Santee, the community of Ramona, and other parts of northeast San Diego County. He currently serves on the powerful Energy and Commerce committee and the Budget Committee in the House of Representatives.
