We owe you a big “Thank You!” This morning, readers all across the 52nd Congressional District opened up their U-T San Diego and were greeted by an outpouring of support for Scott Peters in the Letters to the Editor section. Last week, we asked folks to show their support for Scott and you responded by flooding the U-T with letters of endorsement! You made sure your voice was heard – you’ve joined Scott in in his campaign to bring to common-sense leadership to Congress.

Momentum is on our side, but we have another request and this is HUGE!

Today is National Voter Registration Day and the State of California’s new online voter registration application has finally launched! This is a quick and easy way to make sure you’re registered to vote, which is, after all, the whole reason we’ve been burning the midnight oil for these past few months.

With the November election quickly approaching, this service could not have come at a more important time. Tea Party extremists, like Scott’s opponent, are working overtime to obstruct the vote for many Americans, but we know greater access to the ballot box is essential to a properly functioning democracy and we’re asking you to make sure you’re registered!

Scott’s opponent has voted to support the same kind of voter ID legislation that is being used around the country to disenfranchise millions of voters: including students, veterans, and seniors.

Voter registration is officially over at midnight on Monday, October 22, but early vote ballots can take a week or more to get out, so be sure to register well before that deadline.

This election has the potential to a positive change for our city, our state, and our country. We hope you’ll stand with Scott Peters on November 6th and help get Congress working for us again!

Sincerely,

The Field Team
Scott Peters for Congress
