San Diego -- Rep. Scott Peters’ re-election campaign is gaining momentum by the day, with Rep. Joe Kennedy of Massachusetts becoming the latest prominent Democrat to help with voter outreach in the CA-52 district.

Rep. Kennedy will come to San Diego this weekend to campaign for Peters, joining with other volunteers to walk neighborhoods and talk to voters on Saturday morning.

He is the grandson of Robert F. Kennedy.

“I’m honored and thankful that Rep. Kennedy is coming to San Diego to help out,” Peters said. “His reputation as a champion of working families and the environment has always resonated with voters. Our campaign will be happy to put him to work on Saturday.”

Kennedy joins the growing list of prominent leaders supporting Peters for his bipartisan work ethic and common-sense approach to national issues. The Peters campaign has received visits from Rep. Steve Israel, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee; Rep. Xavier Becerra; California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom and former Sha Na Na singer Jon “Bowzer” Bauman of Senior Votes Count.
