Endorse Scott Peters for Re-Election to Congress
Peters stands with nurses to provide safe care and workplace protection
San Diego – On National Nurses Day, Congressman Scott Peters is proud to announce that United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Healthcare Professionals has endorsed his campaign for re-election in the 52nd District.
“As we mark National Nurses Day, I’m proud to be supported by the 22,000 Registered Nurses and other health care representatives of UNAC/UHCP,” Peters said. “Nurses dedicate their lives to helping others, and deserve our deepest appreciation today and year round for the high quality care they provide.”
Peters recently became a co-sponsor of the Nurse Staffing Standards for Patient Safety and Quality Care Act of 2013 to establish minimum nurse-to-patient ratios for every hospital unit at all times, and provide whistleblower protection to assure that nurses are able to safely speak out to ensure these staffing standards are maintained.
