San Diego – Today, on the 122nd Anniversary of the Sierra Club, the Scott Peters for Congress campaign proudly announces that the organization has endorsed his campaign for re-election.
“The Sierra Club's legacy of protecting open space and our environment for future generations is unparalleled,” Peters said. “I am likewise committed to preserving our nation’s vast natural resources for future generations. And I will continue to work to keep our air and water clean," he said.
Rep. Scott Peters is a former environmental lawyer, the current the Chair of the Climate Task Force for the House of Representatives Democratic caucus, and has a demonstrated track record of protecting the environment.
The Sierra Club is the nation’s largest and oldest grassroots environmental organization with a strong record of mobilizing voters to support it’s endorsed candidates.
Peters is a freshman member of Congress, elected in 2012. He is a member of the House Armed Services and Science, Space and Technology Committees.
