Congressman Peters Congratulates Faulconer on Mayoral Election Win

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Scott Peters (CA-52) released the following statement congratulating Kevin Faulconer on becoming San Diego’s next mayor:

“Congratulations to Kevin on his victory. Kevin and I worked together on many important efforts on the City Council and I know that he is committed to making San Diego a better place.

“I also want to congratulate David Alvarez, his campaign team, and his volunteers for a dynamic, energetic, and hard-fought effort; David has a bright future and will be a key partner in moving our city forward.

“Our city has long valued pragmatic, bipartisan leadership and it is my hope that we will continue that effort to improve the quality of life for every San Diegan. I look forward to working with Kevin, as we have in the past, and want to thank Interim Mayor Todd Gloria for his steady hand and solid leadership during this tumultuous period.”

Congressman Peters serves the 52nd District of California which covers much of central San Diego County including Poway, Coronado, and large portions of the City of San Diego. The Congressman is a former environmental attorney, San Diego City Council President, and Port Commission Chairman.
